100th Post Contest

I'm having a recycled craft contest. I want YOU to participate. Get ready to recycle!! You do NOT need to have a blog to enter. Send your entries to my email address:
nannybirdcrafts@yahoo.com Type in the subject line "Contest Entry"
When the deadline has past, I will post all entries to my blog and my readers will vote for the winner!!

The options are endless, you can use one of my suggestions that follow or create your own. A larger picture of the pics below can be viewed by clicking on the picture, to see more detail. Examples of a recycled craft project for this contest could be:

Make a purse out of plastic shopping bags
or by using Cindy's patterns for a "plarn" tote.

Try Mylinda's tutorial for weaving a purse out of candy or chip wrappers

or magazine pages, the strips covered with clear packing tape
.

Make a stuffed animal out of old clothes, this Teddy is made from an old skirt I had with a stain on it.

Use old jeans to make a quilt, stadium blanket, tote bag or picnic blanket.

Re-Vamp an old article of clothing by adding new buttons, ribbons or iron on designs, it could be a hand-me-down you make "new" again for your child, or yourself.

Felt an old wool sweater and use the fabric you create to make something.

Repair an old quilt that is getting worn, give it new binding or add a new touch to it with embroidery or a new patch on a thread bare area.

Turn yesterdays leftovers into a new and tasty appealing dish for dinner tonight.

I am very general in how recycling can be viewed, but think of it this way, anything that was headed for a trash can and is saved for use in a new end product in my opinion is recycling.

Search the Internet, get creative, think of your own project, use one of my suggestions, enter a past project you made, or make a new one.

I want to receive from you in an email a finished project picture, try to include what the recycled item looked like before as I have done in the above pictures showing what the end product was made from if possible, if it's something you made years ago, a picture might not be available, but a description would help.

Since this is a contest that might take some time to create your entry, I will allow 2 weeks before the deadline. Enter as many recycled crafts as you want. Post about this contest to your own blog [use this link and it will take you to the contest post directly.] http://nannybird.blogspot.com/2007/11/100th-post-contest.html and get your readers involved, the more the merrier.

It will be fun to see what you come up with, and you just might inspire others to get creative but mainly to recycle!

The first place winner will have first choice of the 3 prizes. If there is more then 20 entries, there will be a second place winner and they will choose from the remaining 2 prizes, if there is more then 30 entries there will be a 3rd place winner and they will receive the last prize.

The dead line for your entry will be 2 weeks from today, midnight of November 29th. I will follow up with a post of all entries on November 30th. Voting ends midnight December 3rd. The votes should be posted in the comments section of my post with the contest entries.

You do not need to enter a project to vote, but this is where getting YOUR readers to come to my blog page to vote will help you win if you do submit an entry. Please vote only once for the first place winner.

NOW here's what you could win!! It's good stuff folks, so lets submit those entries!

Great contest idea! I'm going to decide and start something this weekend. :-) I saw purses done with chip bags in a department store today! They had a lot of different styles too. Pretty expensive as well. :-)

I think I will recycle an old pair of jeans into a bag/purse...we have lots and you can never have too many bags. That would make a great Christmas present too.

Hmmmm.... I have a couple of ideas, but I don't know if I will be able to get them done. But if not, I will definately be here to vote. Such an interesting and fun idea, Nan!

Wow...cute bags! I am sooo impressed by your cathedral quilt. It is absolutely beautiful. Where in Virginia is Windsor. I've lived here most of my life and don't know it? Thanks for your comment on my blog.

I just moved to New Kent County. Is that anywhere near here? I'll have to think a while about the contest. Are you looking for crafts with instructions or just crafts?
